Claude A. Olson

Claude A. “Cork” Olson, 83, of 626 Greendale Road, Kane, died Wednesday evening, February 13, 2013 at Florida Hospital - Orlando in Orlando, Fla.

Born November 25, 1929 in Kane, he was the son of Claude E. and Gladys M. Christjohn Olson. On December 25, 1950 in Kane, he married Eleanor L. Aljoe, who died February 1, 2003.

Mr. Olson was an Oil & Gas Inspector for the Pennsylvania DEP for twenty-five years. Later he owned and operated Olson Drilling in Kane. He was also a member of the NRA.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara D. (Dave Zega) Lamping of Kane and Rebecca O. (Brett) Jensen of Columbus, Pa.; two sons, C. Jesse (Shelly) Olson and John L. (Debra) Olson, both of Kane; his fiancé Patricia Lindquist of Kane; and nine grandchildren, John Olson, Jr., Laura, Emily and Andrew Olson, Rachel Burton, Jesse and Joseph Olson and Jacob and Wyatt Jensen. Two great grandchildren also survive.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Tuesday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane, and may attend a service at 11:00 on Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Kane with the rev. William LaVelle, pastor, and the rev. Robert Howles, pastor of the Lottsville United Methodist Church, co-officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Eisenhower Middle-High School Library, 226 Route 957, Russell, PA 16345; or to the Kane Area All Sports Boosters, c/o Jayne Peterson, 4 Detrick Road, Kane, PA 16735.
