T his funeral home was built by John F. Hill circa 1955, who operated it until 1977.

After attending Clarion State College, I entered the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, from which I graduated in 1979. I served my internship in York, Pa., and later was a licensed associate at a large multiple-location funeral home in Erie before purchasing this funeral home in 1986.

My grandfather, Robert N. McDonald, was a funeral director for 46 years, and my father, Ronald McDonald, has owned and operated the funeral home in Marienville for over 50 years.

As I enter my thirty-second year as a licensed funeral director, my desire to serve families well continues to be my passion.
